I'm baaaack!

So hello again! I've been gone from the blogging scene for a long time. I've rediscovered our blog today and I even found a post that I never posted. Real quick, here are a few updates:
  • We moved to a new, bigger yet affordable place and we love it! We are still in Provo, just on a different side. We are still unpacking... it's taking us quite some time, but we're excited to have our place set up soon.
  • Andrew graduated in April and we are looking forward to what life has in store for us next (whatever that may be...). He's taken more hours at work and getting ready to go through the whole starting school again. He's going to get a masters online which will provide all of us with some flexibility. He's enjoying his time off, though. Today was the first time he shaved in about 2 weeks... he's liking the whole not having to shave for class thing.
  • Jackson is now 16 mos and he is quite the active little guy. He's very curious and likes exploring, even things that he shouldn't. He's into biting most recently, and man, does that boy have some chompers on him! He's very loving and cuddles more than most kids I know his age. He can give kisses, well, kind of... he knows that you put your mouth on someone's cheek. He doesn't quite understand that he needs to close his mouth. He's a cutie and we adore him!
  • I'm going to school full time, yay me! I'm actually enjoying my classes, but they're tough. That is what my life mostly consists of, school and home, but it's good, I'm busy and I like it. Next week, I get to take a little break and go on a little vacation with Eliza. I'm really looking forward to it, and it'll be really good see her. It's been a while.

Here are some old pics from the old entry I found. These are from my birthday and Halloween. I know they're old, but Enjoy!

Moving on up...

Here's what's going on:

We've left our itty bitty one bedroom apartment and now we live in a huge 2-bedroom. Ok, it's not really huge, but if you lived were we did before, it would feel huge. We've finally settled in for the most part, and it feels nice having all the big stuff done. Yay!

Andrew and I just finished finals and I have to say that I feel so relieved. I'm only taking one class now and he's taking the summer off.

And Jackson...

He's awesome! He finally has his own room and sleeps well in it. He's rolling all over the place! He's eating really well, and he likes mostly everything he tries (not that he's tried a whole lot yet). I get to take him to Philly in 2 weeks and I'm so excited! I haven't been home in forever and it'll be Jackson's first vacation!

He's such a happy, healthy boy and we've been so blessed to have this well-behaved baby in our lives. I know that there's no way that I could have done school, moving, and taking care of him if he weren't such an amazing child. We love him dearly! And we love getting to know his as his little personality emerges day by day.

We'll post pictures soon!

Videos

Here's some random videos of Jackson. One of them is of him rolling over, which he did for a week and hasn't done it since. I guess he figured it just wasn't for him...
Enjoy!

It's been a long time...

I'm so bad at this. I know that everyone wants to see pics , and I am totally slacking. I'm still trying to figure out how to post albums here, but I've been posting pics on facebook. So for those of you that don't have facebook, here's some links to some pics.

There isn't too much going on with us. We're moving next week back to Provo to a 2 bedroom... yay! Andrew and I are both in school, which is actually really stressful and I'm still trying to get better at time management. For some reason I didn't think going back to school was going to be so hard, but it's hard when you can only get things done when he's sleeping. So even though he's sleeping through the night, I'm still not getting sleep. It's ok though, it's helping me to not be my usual procrastinator self.

Andrew is working, going to school, and just became president of his improv comedy group. He really enjoys that and it's going well. We just celebrated our 2nd year anniversary, which is so hard to believe. I feel like we've been married much longer than that.

Jackson is awesome! He's growing, playing, smiling, laughing, and he just started eating a little rice cereal. It's amazing to watch him grow and watch his little personality come through. He is such a happy, healthy little boy!

I love my family!!

His First Photo Shoot!

Hello everyone!!!

I'm finally posting something. I'm still adjusting to life so my posts won't be too frequent for a little while. The pictures I posted are pics that a woman in our ward volunteered to take. She's really into photography and wanted to practice taking baby pictures. These were taken the Friday after he was born, so I promise to post some more recent pictures later this week. Hope you enjoy!

Introducing Jackson Edwin Perkins!

Jackson was born on January 13 at 10:38 AM.
20 inches, 6 lb 14 oz

At birth they had him recorded at 7 lb 12 oz. Then they realized that the weight was wrong when they weighed him again that evening. I just found a picture I took at the time of weighing. And, thanks to Sony, we now know that he was 6 lb 14 oz. If this was a football game, the original call would have been overturned.

And now you know that Vanessa is not the typer of this message...

Now for some pictures...

Jackson, fresh out the box!

It's Been A While...

I haven't posted anything in a while, so I thought I would update everyone on the goings on in our life (even though there isn't much going on).

I'm still pregnant, now more than ever, and we're hoping that the baby will make an appearance any day now. I still have a week till my due date, but I've been ready to be done for the past few weeks and I think Andrew's been ready to be done with my whining for about as long.

Christmas was really good. We were quite blessed with the generosity of people in our ward. It was probably the first christmas that I wasn't expecting too much, but was given more than we could ask for. Christmas day we went to our landlord's brother's house where we had a really fun time with everyone. And then the next day, Andrew had to take me to the ER for my asthma (the day after holidays isn't really a good one for me it seems since we ended up having to do the same thing the day after Thanksgiving). Luckily, they got my breathing in check in enough time for us to be able to enjoy the after christmas sales and allow us to get the remainder of our baby needs.

New Year's was spent with another couple, Jeff and Lorrette, that we know through Andrew's LOL group. It was simple, but a lot of fun. It's exciting since most of our friends are single, so it was nice to spend some time with another couple who we have a lot in common with. It's pretty fun to watch Andrew and Jeff bounce their funny off of each other.

Andrew just started classes this past week and I miss him a little. Just a little. It was nice to have him around during the break, but now he's back to busy schedule he had right before the break. But I won't be spending too much time alone since one of my friends insists in staying with me so that I'm not alone when I go into labor. She's so nice! And I know Andrew appreciates it a ton. He doesn't have to worry so much about not being with me.

That sums everything up for now and hopefully the next time I post something, I'll be sharing some really good news. Cross those fingers!!
